Singapore Fashion Week 2017 (SGFW) is in its 11th year, an event organized by Mercury Marketing & Communications from 26th – 28th October 2017. This year, guests can expect three days of shows, two days of talks, glamourous designer dinners, high octane after parties and unique VIP experiences in the exclusive Patrons Lounge.
The Patrons Lounge will be located in the glass balcony at the Supreme Court Terrace Sky Lounge at National Gallery Singapore right next to the runway with Perrier-Jouet champagne, canapés by Lavish, Nescafé bar and delectable desserts, with private registration and easy access to seating for all Patrons.
SGFW is proud to welcome celebrated New York-based, Asian fashion designer Jason Wu, as the highlight this year. The Asian-American designer is best known for dressing Michelle Obama for many occasions, including her first Inauguration Ball in 2009. The A-list celebrity-favourite has also dressed the likes of Reese Witherspoon, Julianne Moore and Diane Kruger on the red carpet.
Guests can also expect a stunning red carpet show by Singaporean designer Lai Chan who will make fashion week history as the first Singaporean designer to open with a red carpet show at SGFW. The runway collection will be inspired by the history of Asia, paired with the legacy of couture.
Celebrating Singapore designers, guests can expect to catch the shows featuring Singapore’s most stylish IT girls & fashion icons – ARISSA X by Arissa Cheo and Exhibit by Yoyo Cao. Arissa Cheo is a social media
starlet with a legion of female followers, all wanting to catch a glimpse of her jet set lifestyle. Yoyo is one of Singapore’s most internationally recognised social media personalities. She is known for being stylish off and on the runway. Her talent in creating stunning aesthetics, extends to her clothing label.
Other home-grown labels to look out for include Whole9Yards, the Singaporean label now stocked in 17 countries; GINLEE, winner of Singapore Fashion Awards 2016 Emerging Designer of the Year; and a multi-label show featuring 5 exciting brands to watch in Singapore, DEBONEIRE (Menswear), NIDA SHAY, WAI YANG, WEEKEND SUNDRIES and Ying the Label.
The region’s finest fashion labels will also be celebrated in the inaugural Asia Fashion Designers Showcase, designers appearing are Zin Kato (Japan), Irna Mutiara (Indonesia), Albert Andrara (Philippines), Vienique (Korea), Tasmiah (China).
Celebrating the global rise of MODESTyle, an industry projected to be worth $360 billion globally by 2021, three MODESTyle shows will be presented with Highlights of MODEStyle runways include Dian Pelangi (Indonesia), Bill Keith (Malaysia), Jovian Mandagie (Malaysia), Rozita Che Wan (Malaysia).
In addition to the runway shows, Patrons will also have access to ZIPCODE, our inaugural Fashion Tech Summit, headlined by American designer Jason Wu, global influencer Nicole Warne (GaryPepperGirl), Korean content creator Shini Park (ParknCube) and Asia’s ground-breaking retail stars, Vivy Yusof of Fashion Valet & Rachel Lim of Love Bonito. The two-day event will be held at LASALLE SIA Theatre & The Great Room.
